Football Party

Saturday we celebrated David's birthday with his friends by playing football. The crew met at an elementary school nearby and played football for about an hour and a half then we went back to our house for cake and ice cream. We had all ages there playing and it was so much fun to watch. Thank goodness for dads who can keep up with that much boy energy. Happy Birthday David, it has been fun celebrating you and the gift you are to our family. God has done great things in your life these 8 years.

new piano

We finally found a piano for our family. We found it on craigs list Friday. Phil and Abby looked at it Saturday morning. It passed every ones requirements so Phil paid for it and told the family that we would get it on Sunday. Two wonderful young men from church helped Phil get it Sunday evening and made it look easy to move. The lady we bought it from lived very close to us and she kindly gave Abby the metronome that you see on the piano. She said it was probably 50 years old! Abby looked forward to piano practice today on the new instrument and it sounded great having her play.

Silver Comet Trail

Phil had some family come to visit last week and they took a ride on the Silver Comet Trail. This is a bike & walking trail in metro Atlanta. They rode 15 miles last Wednesday. Even David went 10 on his own and 5 riding on the back of Phil's bike. It was a marvelous spring day to be out in such a beautiful place.

David turns 8

Today was David's eighth birthday. He woke up bright and alert like always but with even more excitement. This is spring break so he has the added treat of no school. He ate his meals off the family red plate and often reminded us it was his birthday so he should make all the decisions of the day. He had a friend over to play, picked the menu for supper, celebrated with his grandparents, opened lots of presents, built Legos and wrestled with his dad in his Spiderman suit. We had a full day with a great guy!! David is very thankful so just about every present he opened was followed by a gasp and " Oh this is what I've been wanting forever" He has birthday party coming up on Saturday where he will play football with some friends so I guess he gets to celebrate all week. We are thanking God that David is a part of our family.
